Our Origins
A Vision Born in Sweden
Headquartered in Sweden, the story of AMRA began in 2010, when the company was founded as a spin-off from the Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization (CMIV), the Department of Biomedical Engineering (IMT), and the Department of Health, Medicine, and Caring Sciences (HMV) at Linköping University.
Our History
From Inspiration to Innovation
Following the documentary, “Super-Size Me”, AMRA founders Magnus Borga and current CEO, Olof Dahlqvist Leinhard, decided to investigate how MR imaging could be used to measure our bodies, including interventional effects on fat and muscle volumes. Their research led to the development of a patented method for the automated analysis of MR images, the formation of AMRA, and to the powerhouse research engine that is leading the charge in clinical trial design across a number of disease areas.
