LINKÖPING, Sweden; November 24, 2021 – AMRA Medical will introduce two high-precision magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) analysis services for assessing body composition and muscle quality to the global market at the Radiological Society of North America Annual Meeting (RSNA). The RSNA 2021 annual meeting is being held in Chicago and virtually from November 28 to December 2, 2021, where attendees can learn about new ideas and technologies that redefine what it means to work as a Radiologist.
AMRA’s new MRI analysis services — AMRA® BCP Scan and AMRA® MAsS Scan — challenge the paradigm for assessing an individual’s health by delivering precise body composition measurements with contextual insights for a variety of applications.
The upcoming AMRA® BCP Scan (BCP: Body Composition Profile) will deliver an actionable, easy-to-understand report, providing precise fat and muscle measurements and engaging body composition visualizations to help clinicians better understand a patient’s health and wellness, metabolic disorder, and cardiovascular disease risk factors.
The upcoming AMRA® MAsS Scan (MAsS: Muscle Assessment Score) will support critical patient-care decisions for advanced liver disease by objectively assessing Sarcopenia. It is an MRI analysis service that will deliver an actionable, easy-to-understand Muscle Assessment Score (MAsS) to clinicians.
By using a patent-protected segmentation technology, a reference database, and a unique rapid MRI protocol, the semi-automated process assesses fat and/or muscles with precision—all through a single scan. AMRA’s imaging protocols are standardized across major 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners and easily integrate into current clinical workflows. Both services are currently approved as a Medical Device Class 1 in Canada and are expected to receive FDA clearance in the US in Q4 2021 as a measurement device and CE-mark approval in the EU by Q2 2022.
