LINKÖPING, Sweden, December 4, 2025 – AMRA Medical, the global leader in MRI-based fat distribution and muscle composition analytics, is excited to share that we will be attending and presenting at the 22nd iteration of the of the Global Cardiovascular Clinical Trialists (CVCT) Forum, happening December 8-10 at The Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C.!

AMRA is looking forward to contributing to the conversation at CVCT 2025, most notably by sharing results from a recent study done in collaboration with Javed Butler, MD, MPH, MBA fromat the Baylor Scott & White Research Institute, and Linköping University. Given the lack of normative data regarding body composition in individuals with heart failure (HF), the study aimed to provide reference data for fat distribution and muscle composition in 185 participants with HF based on the UK Biobank imaging study.

The results showed that HF was characterized by subtle but consistent alterations in fat distribution and marked muscle derangements, rather than overt obesity or sarcopenia, and suggest that traditional indices for obesity and sarcopenia underestimate the burden of metabolic and musculoskeletal derangements in HF. This study comes at a pivotal time in the heart failure trials space as ongoing studies assess the use of weight-loss therapies for management within HF populations, with associated concerns surrounding loss of muscle mass and onset of sarcopenia. Are you attending CVCT 2025? You can learn more about the study and its findings by visiting us at our poster, presented by Jennifer Linge, PhD, or by connecting with us at info@amramedical.com to find a time to discuss with our team on site in D.C.. We would love to see you there and chat about how AMRA’s various offerings can help move your science and clinical care practice forward, in cardiovascular disease and beyond.
