How We Do It
Our Digital Health Platform
Our digital health platform elevates conventional body composition analysis to precise, actionable measurements to augment clinical research and clinical workflows. With unique imaging technology and a massive reference database for fat and muscle composition, we help clinicians and researchers advance precision medicine.
How It Works
We fuse whole-body MRI technology and bioinformatics to integrate new techniques in body composition analysis—empowered by machine learning and automation.
Coupling whole-body MRI and informatics enables us to create high-precision body composition biomarkers that are applicable for clinical practice or clinical research. This equips clinicians and researchers with tools that can help deepen patient insights and support high-stakes decision-making.
Maximize the impact of whole-body MRI through automated body composition analysis.
The Technology
We’ve developed a patented, automated method for classifying and quantifying fat and muscle groups. It’s rapid, automated, precise, and accurate—so you get reliable results quickly.
HERE’S WHAT IT INVOLVES:
- Quantitative MR image acquisition using most 1.5T or 3T scanners
- Automatic calibration to correct for image distortion
- Automatic fat and muscle segmentation and quantification
We know your teams are busy treating patients or developing the next breakthrough drug, so we ensure our technology is easy to implement and maintains workflow efficiency—with AMRA there is no software distribution and the technology works with a simple-to-download protocol.
We use the AMRA Profiler to generate reports for clinical use and the AMRA Researcher to generate data for clinical trials and discovery research.
The Body Composition Database and Biomarkers
We use the world’s largest reference database for fat and muscle composition to power our unique technology, create precise body composition biomarkers, and enable Virtual Control Groups (VCG)—maximizing the utility of digital health for personalized medicine.
The body composition database has over 54,000 data sets—all quality-controlled, making our image analysis accurate and our measurements precise.
Body Composition Profiling
Through population studies and our global MRI sites, our team measures and documents muscle and fat composition in people around the world to connect the dots between body composition and phenotypic data, such as the data housed in the UK Biobank:
- Genomics
- Lifestyle
- Comorbidiites
- Serum (blood)
- Demographics
Body Composition Assessment
Using our whole-body MRI capabilities and imaging database, we can select which muscles should be evaluated in a disease-specific and potentially individualized manner—generating a personalized approach to MRI that can be used to assess muscle and fat composition in the areas that really matter.
- 36+ different muscles
- Disease-specific, stage-specific
- Longitudinal changes detected
- Ideal for diseases where affected muscles differ between patients
- Complements functional tests
